"A sparkling, life-affirming novel—sunshine on the page."—Cathy Kelly

"Heartwarming."—Irish Independent

Return to USA Today bestselling author Felicity Hayes-McCoy's Finfarran Peninsula with this enchanting novel in the vein of Jenny Colgan, Maeve Binchy, and Nancy Thayer—humming with the rhythms of modern rural Irish life—in which librarian Hanna Casey and her family and friends face new challenges and possibilities.

On the Finfarran Peninsula on Ireland's west coast, the blue skies and warmer days of summer are almost here. At the Lissbeg Library, Hanna Casey has big plans for the long days ahead. Beginning with the film adaptation of Brooklyn, she's starting a cinema club, showing movies based on popular novels her friends and neighbors love.

But the drama that soon unfolds in this close-knit seaside village rivals any on the screen.

Just when Lissbeg begins to feel like home, an unexpected twist leaves Hanna's daughter, Jazz, reeling and may send her back to London.

Aideen worries that her relationship with Conor won't survive the pressures of their planned double wedding with overbearing Eileen and manipulative Joe.

Saira Khan throws herself into helping a troubled new arrival to Finfarran.

Hanna enjoys getting closer to Brian until her ex-husband Malcolm returns, threatening her newfound contentment.

As the club prepares for the first meeting of the summer, they'll all face difficult choices. But will they get the happy endings they deserve?

This fifth book in Hayes-McCoy's Finfarren Peninsula series (after The Transatlantic Book Club, 2020) stands completely on its own. Hannah runs the small library in town with her assistant Conner, and they are hoping to inspire their community with a new spin on a book/movie club. Their notable club members include Hannah's adult daughter Jazz who was recently dumped; Aideen, Conner's fiance who is navigating the idea of a double wedding while worrying if their love can last; and Saira Khan who is determined to help a lost soul new to Finfarren. Hannah is feeling content with her life at the library and her love interest Brian, until she finds out that Brian has a son Jazz's age. This newfound information rattles Hannah and makes her question her relationship with Brian, just in time for her cheating ex-husband to pop into her life and ask her to come back home. This warm and heartfelt novel will make readers genuinely care about the characters and wish them the best. Fans of Jill Mansell will enjoy this one.

Several years ago, Londoner Hanna left her cheating husband Malcolm and moved with her young daughter Jazz to Ireland's lush countryside. Now working at the Lissbeg Library, Hanna has acclimated to her small town and even hosted a series of successful library programs. She is in a relationship with a local architect, Brian, and Jazz has grown into a successful young woman. But there is drama ahead. Hanna's assistant at the library, Conor, is torn between a career as a librarian and working on his family's farm; his sweetheart, Aideen, worries about their upcoming wedding. Other local characters create a rich tapestry of community in which so many lives are connected. Then Malcolm decides to make a visit and try to win Hanna back. VERDICT Lushly described scenery and a diverse group of characters add interest to this fifth book set on the fictional Finfarran Peninsula (after The Transatlantic Book Club) that is sure to please fans of the series. Readers who enjoy the works of Maeve Binchy will find a similar author here.--Karen Core, Detroit P.L.
