本书为我社中小学课外应读文学经典丛书之一种。每个成语都包含了一个典故或者故事，这些故事或充满神奇的想象，或饱含着美好的寓意，或告诉人们一个道理，或讲述了一段历史。可以说，成语故事是人们汲取中华传统文化的捷径。本书精选中小学生常有成语近百个，根据目标读者的语文程度进行改写，大致分为故事、释义、拓展与心灵语录四个部分进行阐释。其中拓展与心灵语录匠心独具，是花城版与其他版本的不同之处。拓展部分，根据故事或者出处部分提及的内容，提取关键词进行名词解释，让读者借助该成语，了解到更丰富的历史背景或者小掌故，反过来亦可加深对成语的认识。心灵语录类似于给学生提供例句，但又不仅仅于此，其中的正能量能引导学生向上向善，也是编写者的用心所在。书稿深入浅出，文笔生动，配以插画，图文并茂，趣味盎然。（The book is one category of Book Series of Should-Read Extracurricular Literary Classics for Primary and Secondary School Students. Each idiom contains a literary quotation or story. These stories are full of magical imagination, contain beautiful implied meanings, tell people a truth or tell about a history. Idiom stories can be regarded as the shortcut for people to learn Chinese traditional culture. The book carefully selects nearly one hundred idioms frequently used primary and secondary school students, rewrites the stories according to the language level of target readers and is roughly divided into four parts for interpretation, namely story, interpretation, expansion and mental quotation. Among them, expansion and soul quotation have great originality, which is the difference between Version of Flower City and other versions. The expansion part extracts keywords for definition of terms according to the content referred to in the stories or the sources to make readers understand richer historical background or anecdotes with the help of the idiom and also deepen their understanding of the idiom in turn. Soul quotation is similar to providing students with example sentences. However, it is more than this.
