What would you do if you could start over? Imagine having a second chance with the one you never forgot.

From the author of the global breakout bestseller The Last Love Note comes the story of a young woman struggling to piece her life back together in the wake of a tragic accident, and the man who gives up everything to help her.

Evie Hudson should be grieving her dead husband, but since the car crash that claimed his life and landed her in the hospital, she can't remember him at all. The only person who can help her piece her past together is her high-school best friend Drew Kennedy.

When snippets of her memory start falling into place, Evie wonders exactly how she ended up in a life that couldn't be further from the one she dreamed of. This time around, she's seeing all the things she missed—and the life she gets to choose . . . again.

Grey delivers an intriguing romance in her latest (after The Last Love Note, 2023). Evie wakes up in a hospital room and believes herself to be a teenager instead of the 29-year-old married woman she actually is. While she wonders where her parents and best friend Bree are, she learns that she is married to a gorgeous man named Oliver, who died in a car crash that she somehow survived. The doctor explains that she is suffering from traumatic memory loss, but without knowing how to reach her family, she is utterly lost. She manages to escape Oliver's funeral and her intense in-laws and unknowingly gets into the car of her old friend, photographer Drew. Drew and Evie were inseparable until she met Oliver, but Drew always wanted more. Drew commits to helping Evie find her family, while she tries to remember who she is. Once Drew reunites Evie with her parents and Bree, she begins to uncover the truth about her relationship with Oliver. Grey gives readers insight into Evie's relationships with Oliver and Drew through alternating perspectives that switch between past and present times. Readers who enjoy Emily Giffin will fly through this superb novel.

Grey's (The Last Love Note) novel follows Evie, an Australian woman who wakes up in the hospital, having survived the car crash that killed her husband. Experiencing severe memory loss, 29-year-old Evie believes herself to be a teenager again. Shocked and confused, she learns that her adult life isn't what she imagined; everyone from her past has disappeared entirely, and those around her are strangers. After fleeing her husband's funeral, she meets Drew, a handsome photographer whom she quickly begins to trust. Drew helps her search for answers, but it seems he knows more about her than he's letting on. Grey's beautifully crafted love story connects Evie's fragmented memories through the lens of photography and linguistics, playing with the different ways that memories can be inscribed. Narrators Kristy Best and Nic English provide solid Australian accents that bring the characters to life, with voices full of both passion and frustration. VERDICT This intricate romantic suspense, filled with anguish, doubt, hope, and love, is a winner for fans of Emily Giffin and Colleen Hoover.--Lacey Webster
