Packed with practical information, this city-based series focuses on exploring the sites in a time-efficient manner. In addition to the iconic spots that every traveler must hit, the sharply organized books offer tailored options: the best activities for kids, free or budget-friendly things to do, even activities for rainy days. Each excursion is designed to be completed during a particular time span, ranging from a few hours to a few days. Walking tours are mentioned in every chapter, but the series also provides tips for getting around by public transportation or private vehicle. There are recommendations for food, drinks, entertainment, shopping, and outings in parks and gardens. The most engaging section of this series is its list of surprises that each city has to offer. Several maps, full-color photographs, and a practical toolkit for all sorts of travelers, including entries for family groups and LGBTQIA+ travelers, round out the details. Map pullouts are included. VERDICT A pocket-sized (about 6 by 4 in.) offering packed with plenty of information for easily navigating a city in a short amount of time.
